Crime/Safety
We must help neighbors and neighborhoods as they work to reduce crime. We need to provide resources for police to work with community groups. We have to make sure that good citizens never become afraid to report crimes. To that end, reasonable tools for breaking up gang activity, and protecting witnesses, should be supported.
We must use all tools at our disposal. I also support programs which give kids, in all neighborhoods, the opportunity to take part in useful activities. For many of these programs the state can be a partner with private business to facilitate recreation programs and job training programs for young people.
